About this Course

WSQ Supervise Security Activities is a single module to prepare the Learner in Security Supervision activities and concepts. Structured under the WSQ framework, Learners are put through simulations (role plays) on various likely scenarios of daily supervisory activities and guided in the model approach to handle these situations.

Upon the successful completion of this training module, the Learner will undergo a structured examination using role plays and questions and answers (assessment) conducted by an independent assessor (examiner) from *POLWEL (*Police Welfare Co-operative).

General Information

A written Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued by the assessor to the Learner immediately at the end of the assessment stating either the Learner is competent or not yet competent. For Learners found to be competent, at a later date WDA will issue a printed certificate sent to the Learner through the Authorized Training Organization (ATO) and or Learner’s sponsor.

Under the Private Security Industry Act (PSIA), any person employed and appointed to supervise security officers (security guards) in Singapore must undergo training in this module and be certified competent. Exemption from this requirement may be granted by Singapore Police Force, "Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD)" the successor to "Security Industry Regulatory Department (SIRD)" based on the individual’s previous professional training in supervision of personnel and security activities.

1.    Study Security Operations Procedures

2.    Supervise direction of security officers

3.    Supervise control of security officers

4.    Supervise emergency situations

5.    Supervise health and safety at work

Training Duration:

22 hours carried out over 3 working days. Assessment will be conducted by POLWEL assessor upon successful completion of training. Assessment duration is 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Entry Requirements:

Under WSQ framework, WSQ courses are seamless that do not require pre-entry qualifications. But, as this Supervisor course and assessments are conducted in English, it is strongly recommended the Learner should have a good command of English. For the Learner to have strong underpinning knowledge as a foundation in Security activities, it is strongly recommended the Learner completes WSQ Enhanced Basic Security Course modules Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Handle Security Incidents and Services first, before under taking training in WSQ Supervise Security Activities (Security Supervisor Course).
