About this Course

Problem-based Learning (PBL) is a learner-centred approach that focuses on helping learners acquire knowledge, skills and critical thinking ability through a dynamic learning process. The PBL approach aims to enable learners to: i. construct a ready-to-use, flexible knowledge and skill base; ii. develop effective reasoning and problem-solving skills; iii. develop self-directed, lifelong learning skills; and iv. become effective collaborators The objective of the workshop is to help participants understand and apply the principles and methods of PBL in their coursework. Participants will learn to evaluate their teaching perspectives as educators, develop strategies for facilitating learning, use problems as triggers for learning, as well as understand how to conduct holistic assessment.
