About this Course

On completion of this unit, the learner will have the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills in measuring and assessing contaminants at the workplace. This includes identifying of sources of hazardous substances, implementing control measures and managing the associated risks. Persons who successfully completed this unit of competency will be recognised as the ‘competent persons’ for the control of hazardous substances at the workplace by the Ministry of Manpower. The learners are also provided with the knowledge needed to manage hazardous substances as required by the National Environmental Agency, for the fulfilment of their duties as hazardous substances licence and permit holders.
