About this Course

ASP.NET is the new offering for Web developers from the Microsoft .It is not simply the next-generation of ASP; in fact, it is a completely re-engineered and enhanced technology that offers much, much more than traditional ASP and can increase productivity significantly.

This course presents all the essential tools, libraries, components and best practices that today's Web developers must utilize while building leading-edge ASP.NET Web applications.

It begins by explaining the different Web application architectures and project types supported by Visual Studio .

A web application in ASP.NET is a collection of pages, controls, code modules, and services all running under a single web server application directory (usually IIS). ASP.NET makes it really easy to build the types of dynamic web applications that exist everywhere on the Internet today.

Next, it introduces the different types of Web controls that are at the developer's disposal. User controls and master pages demonstrate the power of code reuse while the site navigation controls can be use to simplify navigation for the Web users.

A thorough explanation of ADO.NET is covered using the latest Web data controls. Students will also learn about the ASP.NET provider model introduced with .NET and newer. Web Parts are also extensively covered for use on ASP.NET Web sites.

The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding about building GUIs for web-based applications and web services. Another objective is to teach students how to develop an interactive websites under Visual Studio Environment, with an emphasis on the usage of Controls. The course covers all major language features including Master Pages, AJAX Toolkit, Web Part Controls, and ADO.Net. We are also covering LINQ, WCF, Web Services and Introducing Sliver Light
